JasonMorton_TournamentBrochureThe 2014 Jason Morton Tennis Classic will be held at the IronOaks Tennis Club in Sun Lakes, Ariz. This prize money adult age group event is one of the top events in the Southwest, and offers singles, doubles and mixed doubles in adult age group events from 35 years old and up.

This tournament, known for its hospitality from the Sun Lakes Homeowners Association members who help run the event, is held at the beautiful club in far East Phoenix.

This 14-court club (10 hard, 4 clay) is nestled into a subdivision of homes and has a very active and social tennis community.

The JMTC is named after longtime teaching pro Jason Morton, who also designed the tennis club and was its first tennis director. Morton was a world-renowned senior tennis player, a USTA Texas and USTA Southwest Hall of Fame member, past president of USPTA Texas division and official.

He may be most famous for having chaired the Billie Jean King-Bobbie Rings "Battle of the Sexes" match at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas in 1974.

The tournament is one of many on the USTA Southwest adult circuit, and a Level II event for adult age group rankings in the Southwest. Prize money will be offered in all levels, and will be determined by number of entries in each age division.
