USTA Southwest is the defending champion at the USTA Southwest BNP Paribas Tri-Level National Championships.

The first league championship event of 2010 will get the year started off right as the USTA Southwest Tri-Level League Section Championships swings into action Jan. 15-17, 2010 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.

Twelves (six men, six women) of the Section's top multi-level gender teams from Albuquerque, Phoenix, Tucson, El Paso, Southern New Mexico and Northern Arizona areas will be on hand in Surprise, vying for the title of the 'USTA Southwest Section Tri-Level champion'.

Nearly 150 male and female competitors are expected to be on hand at this year's tournament, which features combined competition (3.5, 4.0, 4.5) in both male and female divisions over three days.

Event Format
- Three lines of doubles only in each team match - one at 3.5, one at 4.0, one at 4.5 NTRL levels)
- Individual matches will be played as two-out-of-three FIVE game sets (if tied at 5-5, a tiebreak is used)
- A World Team Tennis-style total games-won scoring format will be used to determine team winners, not a matches-won format
