Want to try and win a USTA national age group championship? Here's your chance, as the USTA National Men's 35 Hardcourt Championships comes to the Scottsdale Athletic Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., April 19-25.

Phoenix's Jesse Ponwith was a winner in the doubles division in 2008 at the USTA National Men's 35 Hardcourt Championships.

The top men's players in the 35 year old age dvision in the country will be competing for prize money and a coveted USTA gold ball, but the event is open to any men's player and USTA member 35 years old - or who turns 35 on any day in the 2009 calendar year. (Prize money is based on size of draw - see tournament homepage for breakdown).

The event - like the Fiesta Bowl event in December - is an International Tennis Federation Sanctioned Grade 1 event, meaning players pick up points in their age division in the world ITF rankings for the 35's division. It's also the highest point valued tournament for USTA national rankings.

Registration deadline for the Hardcourts is April 3. Follow the link above to enter online. Tournament fee is $80 for singles, $90/doubles team. Consult the tournament homepage for accomodations for the event as well.

Last year's HardCourts event had two winners from USTA Southwest, Jesse Ponwith (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Jerome Jourdan (Scottsdale, Ariz.), capturing the doubles title. Defending singles champion is Oren Motevassal of Austin, Texas.
