Gold Key Racquet Club Partners with JDRF to Play Tennis for the Cure.

jdrf logoJoin in the fun at Gold Key Racquet Club on October 6-7, 2007 as we Play Tennis for the Cure, a fund raising event to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). There will be something for everyone―from children to adults, beginners to experienced players and even something for those that just enjoy spectating. The excitement kicks-off on Saturday October 6th at 8 a.m. at Gold Key, 12826 N. 3rd Street, Phoenix.

Activities Include:

Tennis Fun Fest

A carnival of tennis games & activities with lots of prizes.  Never picked up a racquet, no problem.  All ages and ability levels can join in the fun.  Sponsored by Wilson Tennis

Cost-$15 per person

Doubles Challenge

A two-day men's and women's doubles tournament for both competitive and recreational players will begin on Saturday the 6th.   The tournament will conclude on Sunday, October 7th with semi-final and finals action.  Sponsored by Half Moon Sports Grill

Cost-$60 per team includes Fun Fest, Evening Extravaganza & event t-shirt

Evening Extravaganza

Enjoy watching some great tennis while you enjoy a fabulous dinner supplied by Tutti Santi-ristorante italiano by Nina. See some of the valley's most exciting young junior players showcase their talent.  The featured event of the evening will be Pro Play:  top area tennis professionals will compete in a round robin format.  It is sure to be a fun and interactive evening with plenty of surprises and twists.

*Take the Speed Serve Challenge and see how their serves compares to Andy Roddick or Venus Williams.  The USTA of Central Arizona will clock your serve using radar technology.

*Shop the Silent Auction where they can purchase items from tennis equipment to spa services—Buy something for you and help one of the 18 million Americans who suffer from diabetes.  JUST ADDED! A week training at the legendary Bollettieri/IMG Academy in Florida. Two for Juniors and two for Adults. Bid on this auction item and improve your game while supporting JDRF's effort to find the cure!
