New Ownership of Sun Tennis, Golf and Travel Magazine

February 13, 2007 04:38 PM

sun magRichard and Peggy Bacon have announced a new ownership of Sun Tennis, Golf and Travel Magazine. After ten years at the helm, they have accepted a purchase offer that will help Sun Tennis improve (as it should) in its 25th year and beyond. Tad Lindstrom, a longtime Arizona tennis pro, will take control of Sun Tennis in March. They will assist and serve as consultants to the new ownership group.

Tad is currently a Realtor and local real estate investor. He has previous experience in publishing, as well as a deep tennis background. His new plans include upgrading Sun Tennis into an all-gloss magazine for the first time in its 25-year history. Other proposals include expanding coverage and distribution to adjoining markets as well. Tad states that these improvements will not increase present advertising rates for those of you who have been longstanding and loyal advertising supporters in Sun Tennis. He looks forward to meeting or talking with all of you in person soon.

In 1997, Tad was a co-founder with us of Sun Group, Inc. and served as editor for Sun Tennis. He was also the creator and founder of Valley Tennis newspaper, which was the inspiration for and predecessor to Sun Tennis Magazine. When Tad first created Valley Tennis in the early '80s, his motivation was to highlight and recognize the pros and players who inspired him and others. That will remain his endeavor, and we will assist him in the months to come, hoping for a seamless transition into new ownership.

If you have any questions, you are invited to call us at 602.242.5045. The phone, fax and web site address will all remain the same. If you wish to contact Tad directly, he may be reached by email at tad@sunmagazines.com or on his cell phone at 602.989.6377. Expect to receive a communication from Tad or one of his representatives in the weeks to come and prior to the next issue, which will be printed on schedule in May 2007.
