NTRP Grand Prix Tournament Rules
Current USTA Membership is required.  A player must have a current NTRP rating on file with the Phoenix Area Tennis Association.  Players may participate in a maximum of 3 events per tournament.

NTRP Levels for Singles and Doubles are:  3.0; 3.5; 4.0; 4.5; and 5.0.  Players may play at their NTRP level or higher. 

Levels for Mixed Doubles are 6.0; 7.0; 8.0; and 10.0.  Mixed Doubles events are based on the combined rating of the partners.  Ratings of Mixed Doubles partners must be within 1.0 point of each other. 

A Round Robin may be played with draws of 3 or 4.   With draws of 1 or 2, players will be placed in the next higher division (with player's permission) or their entry fee will be refunded.  First round consolation rounds are offered, except if Round Robins.

Grand Prix Points are awarded as follows:
20 points for playing in the tournament
20 points for each match won
20 points for a "Bye" round if you win the next match
10 points for winning the tournament
10 points for each consolation match won
 5 points for losing in 3 sets

When events are combined in a tournament, points will be awarded in the event originally entered.

To qualify for the NTRP Grand Prix Masters Tournament, a player / team must play in at least 3 tournaments in the same event and with the same partner in doubles and mixed doubles.  At the end of the season, the top point earners in each division will be given a first place award.  The top 4 point earners in each event will be invited to play in the NTRP Grand Prix Masters Tournament in January provided that they meet the requirements above.
